Warner Bros, via Game Informer magazine in the usa, has introduced the 3rd game in the Batman: Arkham franchise and it is coming earlier than lots of people thought.
Scheduled for release on 25 October this season, Batman: Arkham Roots is a prequel to both its forerunners, having a youthful Batman within the Arkham world, rising against a lot of his most infamous enemies for the first time.
It's presently planned for release on Xbox 360 360, PS3, Wii U and PC, but there's been no reference to the next-generation consoles up to now. It's not known, therefore, whether versions of the overall game are planned for teh PS4 or even the Xbox 360 720, although we may learn more when the latter machine continues to be revealed a while in May (out of the box commonly thought).
Unlike the very first two game titles, this chapter within the series isn't being produced by United kingdom-based Rocksteady Galleries. Rather, Warner Bros Games Montreal is handling the expansion responsibilities in Canada, something it describes as "sitting on shoulders of titans".
Heading in the team is self-confessed comic fan Eric Holmes, who had been also lead designer around the Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction and Prototype, two super hero games that have been significantly well-received. Hopefully that bodes well.
